Program of tour
Day 1 – Kutaisi, Wine & dine We start picking up guests from their accommodation in Batumi and 06:30 and drive to Kutaisi. Once we arrive in the city have a short breakfast break and the excursion starts at 10 a.m. from our office in Kutaisi. Here guide tells about history of Georgia and Kutaisi. After taking pictures at fountain group continues down to central park where are located statue of sister “Ishkhnelebi” and memorial of “9 April”. Afterwards we pass by Kutaisi city hall, Opera house and visit “Mon Plasir” arch. Then we pass by the first gymnasium and visit white bridge, then go through park of love and visit Golden marquee palace. Then we go to central grocery market called “Mtsvane Bazari”. After short shopping we go to Kutaisi History Museum After museum we drive up to Bagrati cathedral that overlooks the city. It was built in 11th century as a symbol of united Georgia. Afterwards we move to Gelati monastery of 12th century. There are 3 big churches, an academy, grave of David the builder, bell tower and houses of monks in the complex. It was built by the greatest Georgian King David The Builder. Then we move to Motsameta monastery that is related to story of tortured brother lords David and Constantine Mkheidze. It’s built on the cliff and is surrounded by the river from 3 sides. The nature and colors around monastery are amazing. By the Lunch time we visit family winery “Baia’s wine” located in Bagdati municipality, village Obcha. Firstly, Baia and Gvantsa (Baia’s sister) show us vineyard that is just behind their house. Then we move to wine cellar to test several types of wines they have. They produce “Tsolikouri”, “Krakhuna”, “Aladasturi”, “Ojaleshi”, “Otskhanuri Sapere” and of course “Chacha”. Afterwards we sit around big table full of Georgian food. Their mom makes the most delicious Imereian food you’ll ever try. After satisfying dinner we return back to Kutaisi, drive to Tbilisi and finish tour 22:30. Overnight in Tbilisi Day 2 – Tbilisi Walking Tour During the day, we take you to various fascinating and hidden places in this charming city. We visit famous sights of Tbilisi such as Metekhi Cathedral, Monument of Vakhtang Gorgasali, cable car, the statue of Mother of Georgia, Narikala Fortress, sulfur baths district, Leghvtakhevi Waterfall, Shardeni Street, Sioni Church, Anchiskhati Church, the Clock Tower of the Puppet Theater Rezo Gabriadze, Bridge of Peace, etc. First, our journey begins with a nice walk through the old street to Metekhi Church. Then you listen to the great history of the foundation of Tbilisi. Next, we cross the Bridge of Peace through Europe Square and Rike Park and go to the unique Clock Tower of Rezo Gabriadze Puppet Theater. Also, you learn the story about Anchiskhati Church and visit Sioni Cathedral with the most beautiful frescoes. After we see the statue of the Toastmaster and by cable car, we go up to Mother of Georgia’s Monument and take stunning pictures of Tbilisi. With a rich history, this romantic city attracts hundreds of thousands of travelers worldwide. The beauty of the mountain region and distinctive Georgian culture inspired many famous writers, artists, and poets to dedicate their fabulous creations to Georgia. We continue our tour to Narikala Fortress, visit the mosque and through Leghvtakhevi gorge, get to Leghvtakhevi waterfall. Finally, we take memorable photos and continue our road to the sulfur baths district along the Bridge of Love. On the way, you enjoy impressive views of the “Leghvtakhevi” gorge. At the end of the tour, we taste local wine and study some Georgian toasts. Overnight in Tbilisi Day 3 – Kazbegi Tour starts at 08:00 by picking up guests from hotels in Tbilisi. Start your tour at Jvari Monastery, a 6th-century orthodox monastery near Mtskheta. Listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, the monastery stands on a rocky mountain above the confluence of the Mtkvari and Aragvi rivers, overlooking Mtskheta, the old capital of Georgia. Continue to Zhinvali Water Reservoir, located on the Georgian Military Highway. Learn the history of this Soviet dam, constructed in the 1980s. Then, arrive at the Ananuri Fortress, the seat of the Eristavis (Dukes) of Aragvi. Discover the intriguing plots of this feudal dynasty that ruled the area from the 13th century. Explore the site of numerous historic battles and take in the magnificent scenery — ideal for landscape photography. After Ananuri Fortress, have lunch in Pasanauri, the homeland of the most famous traditional Georgian food, Khinkali. Admire the Friendship Monument of Georgian and Russian people in Gudauri. Located on the Georgian Military Highway between Gudauri ski resort and the Jvari Pass, the memorial consists of a large round stone arch and concrete structure overlooking the Devil's Valley in the Caucasus Mountains. Then, arrive at Kazbegi, and explore one of the most beautiful places in Georgia: Gergeti Trinity Church. The church is located under Kazbegi Mountain, 2170 meters above sea level, and offers spectacular panoramic views of the entire valley. Enjoy the serene natural beauty of this isolated marvel. Finish your tour at the Rooms Hotel Kazbegi. Relax with a cup of coffee in their stylish restaurant and soak up the stunning views of Kazbegi. Once we arrive in Tbilisi we drop off all guests in the hotels. Overnight in Tbilisi Day 4 – Borjomi, Rabati and Vardzia Tour starts at 06:00 by picking up guests from hotels. We have a short breakfast breat on the way. Once the breakfast is done we join group that comes from Kutaisi and continue tour together. The first spot is Borjomi central park. Here we are able to test mineral water from springs. At the entrance of park there is a cable way that goes up to the hill. From cable way and hill there is amazing view on the park and mountains of Borjomi. After walking in the park we are heading to Rabati castle. We explore medieval castle with local guide who tells us about history and structure of it. For lunch we stop at local restaurant. The last destination is Vardzia – City of caves. When all rooms of the complex are explored we return back to Kutaisi. We arrive in Kutaisi by 22:00 and drop off guests at their hotels. Overnight in Kutaisi Day 5 – Canyons & Cave Tour starts at 10:00 from our office in Kutaisi. The first stop is Prometheus cave that is 1,4 km long and is located 80 meters below surface. In the cave there is a hall of love where people even get married. Here you can enjoy with underground boating. It’s cool, isn’t? :) Meanwhile it’s time for lunch. Our lunch break is at local restaurant where is made the most delicious Georgian food in neighborhood. After delicious lunch we are heading to Martvili canyon. Here we take a boat tour through the canyon and explore depth of it along waterfalls. The final attraction on tour is Okatse canyon. This is the deepest canyon in Georgia with hanged bridges and sky walks. There are 2 ways to achieve bridge: trekking on 3 km route and taking off-roading taxi. Off-roading is pretty impressive experience. Finally, when we are exhausted and full with emotions we go back to Kutaisi, change the vehicle and arrive back to Batumi by 23:00.
